Students will research career/future plans after high school.
Outline for the paper:

INFORMATION FROM GOOGLE OR RANDOM SEARCHES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

Using TWO print resources and TWO Internet resources, you will gather information about a career that you are interested in pursuing. Try to address as many of the following outline points as possible, at the end of your paper, include a WORKS CITED PAGE as reference to the sources you used in correct MLA format.

**You must have a minimum of FOUR sources in your research notebook. (2 print and 2 Internet)
***You must use a minimum of THREE sources in your actual paper.

Autobiographical Essay Guidelines:

2 page minimum.
Double spaced.
Times New Roman or Default font size 12.

Write: 2/9, 2/13, 2/14
Proofread & Revise: 2/15

You will turn in your essay on 2/15/12 to www.turnitin.com and hand in your rough draft and graphic organizer/timeline.

3 things to focus on:
1. Have a strong focus.
2. Transitions.
3. Conventions. (spelling, grammar, mechanics, etc.)

You cannot use 2nd person in this essay.
Be sure to keep an eye open for fragments and run on sentences.

Goals:
Students will be given a PowerPoint presentation in order to learn the background information of the genre they will be writing in.
Students will determine a topic for their autobiographical essay and begin to draft it out.
Students will complete a timeline that will serve as a structure for their paper.
Plan:
1. PowerPoint presentation on autobiographical essays.
2. Determine topic
3. Draft thesis
4. Complete timeline.

PSSA Prep

Goals:
•Students will grade each other’s persuasive essays in accordance with the PSSA rubric.
•Given a PSSA Writing Test Prep, students will read passages and answer questions. Assessment will occur by discussion of the writing test prep.
•Given a PSSA Writing Test Prep students will become familiar with the PSSA format and learn to evaluate questions and answers.
