Journal Day

Scientists have started working on plans to bring back the woolly mammoth, a prehistoric relative of the elephant that many of you learned about as children. The plan is to use cells from a recovered mammoth that was frozen in Siberia and an elephant egg in order to have an elephant give birth to the new mammoth. How do you feel about this? Is it an interesting idea? Is it a good idea? Are there any ways that this kind of research could be helpful? Are there any ways that this research could be dangerous? If it works, what animal should they try it with next and why?

Or

Write a short creative story using an igloo, an iguana, an island, an insect, an illusion, ice skates, and an immunization.

Or

Write on a topic of your choice.
