Bono said, “Music can change the world because it can change people.” How is this possible? In what ways can music change people? Have you ever had a song or band that has greatly influenced you? Are there any ways in which this happens to you regularly?

Notes and Note cards

You should always have printed notes for your speech. You may use regular paper or note cards.
Some people are most comfortable with writing a speech out word for word while others prefer to use only keywords and phrases. Regardless of which method you use there are some basic rules to follow.
1.Write legibly or type
2.Use large size print
3.Leave at least one line in between
Consider using a system of color coded symbols to remind you to pause and to look up.
Ex. Red slashes for pauses and blue circles for look up
If you have more than one page of notes, number the pages.
Make sure to practice reading your notes aloud.

Some people have very unusual pets. People keep everything from emperor scorpions to llamas. Siegfreid and Roy even have multiple tigers. If you could have any pet in the world what would it be? Why would you chose that pet? Would it just be for show or would you teach it tricks and things?

The Art and Abuse of PowerPoint

It has become standard to add a PowerPoint to every speech even if it’s not useful.
If you remember a few basic principles, your PowerPoint will wow the crowd rather than put them to sleep.

Rule 1 A PowerPoint is not meant to replace the speaker’s notes.

Rule 2 The PowerPoint is meant to benefit the audience not the speaker.

Rule 3 Less is more when it comes to words on a slide.

Rule 4 It must be easy to read.

Rule 5 Keep the fonts clean and simple.

Rule 6 Make sure you have enough contrast between the font and the background.

Rule 7 Leave the special effects to the 3-D movies.

Your PowerPoint will be graded on how well you follow the rules in creating your presentation.

Your teacher will specify the topic and number of slides.

Here’s a video of what not to do.
