Informational Prompt

Informational Prompt
Goal: Students will begin composing their own informational essays. They will brainstorm ideas and formulate their own response to the prompt.

1. Plan a response to the writing prompt.
2. Jot down notes about the points you wish to make.
3. Write a thesis statement with the prompt restated.
4. Write an outline with main points and examples to support points

The following prompt will serve as the topic for your paper:

(You will have 60 minutes to plan, write and correct your paper. 30 minutes today and 30 minutes tomorrow)

Prompt:
Consider the role automobiles play in the American culture. What are the most important effects automobiles have had on American culture? Why?

Write an essay explaining the influence the automobile has had on American culture.

-SPEND 5-10 MINUTES SETTING YOUR FOCUS. THIS WILL HELP YOU LEAVE TIME TO -COMPLETE THE REMAINING STAGES OF WRITING FOR DAY 1
